Steve Herman

Steve Herman is a Managing Director at Energy Capital Partners.

Prior to joining Energy Capital, Mr. Herman was Senior Energy Counsel for Goldman Sachs' power asset investment management activities. Previously, he served as Senior Vice President and General Counsel of PG&E National Energy Group and its predecessor, U.S. Generating Company.

Mr. Herman has been a Partner at Latham & Watkins and Kirkland & Ellis, and has served as President of the Energy Bar Association and Vice-Chair, Energy Industry Restructuring Finance and Mergers & Acquisitions Committee, American Bar Association, authored FERC Practice and Procedure Manual and BNA Natural Gas Handbook, and taught at the University of Chicago Law School.

Mr. Herman holds a BS in Economics from the Wharton School of Finance and Commerce, University of Pennsylvania, and an LLB from the University of Virginia Law School.
